ROPES SKILLS 101 Certification #1

DESCRIPTION: Certifications can be obtained after completion of the clinic. This will cover the basics of ropes as applicable to adventure racing such as:

• Safety: Don’t be afraid, what goes up must come down.
• Essential Equipment
• Basic Knots
• Hardware
• Fundamentals
• Ascending with the aid of fixed lines.
• Rappelling

DURATION: 3 to 5 hours

DATES: June 12th and August 7th 2005 10am-1pm

LOCATION: Kailua Beach Park, Kailua HI

COST: $50.00 per person, $25.00 for certification only.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Climbing/Moutaineering Equipment: UIAA/CE approved climbing helmet, Harness, 2 daisy chains or slings (30cm min.), gloves as required for rappelling, 3 locking carabineers, descent device (ATC, Stop, Brake bar, or similar), 1 Prusik knot or Klemheist Knot (min. 6mm cord, length as req. for back up).
